Westbank First Nation Community Core Moves Forward

Outland Design prepared a concept masterplan that draws together a series of disparate institutional buildings into a cohesive cultural centre for the residents of the Westbank First Nations Band and the surrounding community.

The site plan incorporates landscape improvements associated with a new youth centre, an outdoor community gathering space, a heritage garden, walkways, an entry feature and a multi-purpose pathway.

Phase 1 construction of the Community Core improvements began in the fall of 2013. While construction is underway on that portion of the project, Outland Design has proceeded with concept drawings for the Youth Center. We had fun working with software applications called Vectorworks and Renderworks to create a 3D model of the site, illustrating a learning garden and an outdoor classroom.
