New Private Student Housing at University Village Development!

Outland Design has been retained by Faction Projects to prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings and tender documentation for the Academy Way student residences. These residences are sited off the main UBCO campus, along a major access route for both vehicular, pedestrian and cycling circulation, and across the street from a future commercial hub which has helped inform the nature of the landscape architectural design.


Newgate Apartments Recieves Gold LEED Certification!

Newgate Apartments, located in the Rutland area of Kelowna, has received gold LEED certification! The four storey, forty-nine unit building is a low income supportive housing complex for adult men and women at risk of homelessness who require some support to maintain their housing.


Outland Design Landscape Architecture Receives Applied Research Grant!

Outland Design is the recipient of an Applied Research Grant and will be working in partnership with Okanagan College and Maven Lane Childcare & Preschool Centre to examine the adaptation of traditional playgrounds and health benefits for children from early exposure to outdoor natural play spaces.

Johns Family Nature Conservancy Open House

The team at Outland Design took part in another successful open house on April 8th; this time for the Johns Family Nature Conservancy Regional Park. Outland Design, along with Ecoscape Environmental Consultants and Juliet Anderton Consulting are working on preparing a management plan for the 400 hectare (1000 acre) park. This park is located on the doorstep of the communities of the Okanagan Mission area of Kelowna, within the South Slopes of the Regional District of Central Okanagan.


Westbank First Nation Community Core Moves Forward

Outland Design prepared a concept masterplan that draws together a series of disparate institutional buildings into a cohesive cultural centre for the residents of the Westbank First Nations Band and the surrounding community.
